Cancelled shows with Such Gold.

I’m afraid that we have had to pull out of two of the shows with Such Gold, the two dates are May 5th (Leeds) and May 6 (Manchester). We’re really sorry about this and we’ll be sure to come back up soon to make up for it.

The other dates (Southampton, London, Kingston, Birmingham and Sheffield) are all going ahead, as is the in-store at Banquet Records.

In other news, Josh chatted with Side One Track One, about flattery, playing first, and the Free Cinema movement of documentary films from the 1950’s.

On May 2nd we’re doing an acoustic in-store at banquet Records before our show with Such Gold in Kingston. It’s the same day as the Anti-Flag show at the Fighting Cocks so if you are around in Kingston that day, please come check us out. It’ll be our first acoustic show in ages that hasn’t been basically a drunk sing-along at someones house after a show.

Touche Amore/Pianos Become The Teeth/Such Gold

We’re out for a few dates with Touche Amore and Pianos Become the Theeth from the 26th to the 28th this month. Bristol, Manchester and London. We’ll be on first, so if you are coming, it’d be cool to see some faces when we interrupt the DJ to play our set.

Between these two short tours, we’re squeezing in a London show with the awesome Pettybone at the Barfly. Jamie Jazz from the King Blues is on the decks/CD mixer/ipod that night, and we’re on at midnight. I know that seems kind of late, but in Europe thats when the first band usually goes on (I’m barely joking) so I’m sure we can manage it.

We spent the last few days packing up pre-orders before we go on tour with the record. Heres some pictures of the LP and the CD, we couldn’t be happier with how they came out.

We also have some of the Clapton Pond single left from our tour with Crazy Arm and Great Cynics. It’s all available in our shop.

We’re on tour from Saturday, Manchester, to Newcastle, to Leeds, to Birmingham, to Portsmouth, to London. Come get on it!

Get excited! The Clapton Pond single which features 60 Miles as well as re-recordings of Re-arranging The Dust and Apologies, I Have One got delivered today, so we’ll have a really limited number of these while on tour and afterwards if there are any left. You can still pre-order ‘London’ on CD/LP here. We’ll be doing a digital release through our store as soon as it’s out too, but it’ll be on iTunes and other online stores as well.

Our first album, ‘London’ is up for pre-sale now. We’re giving a free illustrated map of ‘London’ with the first hundred orders and we’re doing a t-shirt deal with the pre-orders too that won’t be available once the record is in the wild. Household Name records have pressed some white vinyl also.

We’ll have a small number of CDs of the Clapton Pond single with us when we tour with Crazy Arm and Great Cynics at the end of February/early March – they come with 60 Miles and a re-recording of Re-arranging The Dust that we did while we were down with Pete Miles in his studio-barn in Devon.

JG Harding did the video for the single with Sam Russo acros a weekend in January and while we were confident about his film-making going into the project, I can hardly believe how happy I am with how the video turned out. He’s posted a ‘making of here’.

We’re on a short tour with the record from March 17th, starting with Manchfester and ending at the Old Blue Last in London on the 22nd March before heading back around the country, endlessly, forever. Come hang out out.

LONDON RELEASE SHOW.

The London release show for our record ‘London’ is happening at at the Old Blue Last on the 22nd March and its FREE. Our best friend, and the best dude with a guitar in the world, Sam Russo is playing, along with a special guest who we’ll announce closer to the date. What I can tell you about the secret guest is that he/she/they are so awesome, that playing after him/her/them is a little daunting.

I cannot wait for this show.
